What this is
This policy describes what FareBull stores and why. The short version: we store only what the product needs, we don't sell your data, and we don't run advertising or tracking cookies.
Data we store
If you create an account, we store your name, email address, a salted scrypt hash of your password (never the password itself), your preferences (currency, home airport, theme, email-alert setting), and any trips or alerts you save. Searches themselves do not require an account and are not tied to you.
Cookies
We use a single HTTP-only session cookie (farebull_session) to keep you signed in. It is signed, marked SameSite=Lax, and Secure in production. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. Your theme preference is kept in your browser's local storage.
Third parties
Route and date queries are sent to our flight-data provider to fetch fares; provider credentials stay on the server and are never exposed to your browser. “Book” links open a third-party travel search with your route, dates, and our affiliate identifier — no personal information is included. In demo mode, flight results are simulated locally and no query data leaves the server.
Deleting your data
You can delete saved trips and alerts at any time from their pages. To delete your account and all associated data, contact the maintainer and it will be removed.
